3-Chloroperoxybenzoic acid is used in many syntheses. It is widely used in cyclizing reaction, Baeyer-Villiger oxidation reaction, N-oxidation reaction, S-oxidation reaction. It is used as oxidant in synthesis of pharmaceuticals, bleaching agent. pesticide, herbicides, or as active pharmaceutical ingredient for use in anti-acne creams, face and body washes, and shampoos. Organic peroxides are well established, high purity reagents in pharmaceutical and fine chemicals synthesis. Organic peroxides are a very versatile source of free radicals. Major application of organic peroxides is in oxidation-, epoxidation- and radical reactions. Radicals can be used as synthetic intermediates in various reactions that are difficult to accomplish by other means. Organic peroxides also offer opportunities to reduce the number of reaction steps In classical synthetic routes. Protection of functional groups is mostly not required for radical reactions. Organic peroxides combine a number of interesting features for use in organic synthesis
